How do you get on with your neighbours?

Do you know who lives next door

Shocking new figures have revealed that only one in five of us make contact with the people who live next door.

2,500 people were quizzed across the UK by RatedPeople.com, a website that recommends trades people.

And it discovered that 80 per cent of us never talk to our neighbours. In fact 72 per cent couldn't even tell you the names of the people next door.

But not knowing the neighbours doesn't stop us complaining. The biggest dispute with neighbours is over parking at 31 per cent, followed by excess noise at 26 per cent, and arguments about rubbish – 24 per cent of complaints.

People in Edinburgh are the friendliest neighbours in the UK, with more than half regularly talking to those next door. Compare that to London where only 11 per cent can be bothered.
