More than three million of us plan a move in the next 12 months
Three million want to move in the next year
It's going to be an incredibly busy 12 months for removals men and conveyancers with 3.25 million people aiming to move house by this time next year.
That figure has been released by the Alliance & Leicester which has just done some new research.
It's a pleasantly surprising figure given the current worries in the property market – and shows that the demand for housing is still very much there.
However the people in the survey were pretty realistic about what they are going to have to do to make their home easier to sell.
One in five will be making improvements to add value. 38 per cent admit they did this to property sold in the past, spending an average of £3,000.
69 per cent plan to redecorate their home, 59 per cent will do some outdoor improvements, and 44 per cent will carry out routine maintenance they have been putting off.
