Nearly one in three would be happy to commute to live in the country

We are happy to commute for better health

More than half of people asked in a recent survey believe they would have better health if they moved to the countryside.

59 per cent thought it would improve their health, according to the poll by Yorkshire Bank.

And 72 per cent would be willing to commute for an hour or more just to change where they called home.

For a third of those asked, it was a perception that schools were better in the countryside that attracted them.

27 per cent wanted to get away from the pace of city life.

The survey also asked a number of people in their 20s about moving to the country. 62 per cent believed their career prospects wouldn't be damaged by working in a rural area.

And a greedy 48 per cent would like to own a nice house in the country, plus a city crash pad!
