27 per cent think this is a great time to buy a house

One in four think this is a great time to buy

A quarter of us think this is still a good time to buy property in the UK.

That's been revealed in the first quarterly Property Tracker survey, done by the Building Societies Association.

27 per cent of those surveyed responded positively, believing buying property would be a good long-term investment.

The biggest worry to homebuyers at the moment is mortgage payments. 70 per cent of respondents were worried about finding the cash.

Getting access to a big enough mortgage was also a worry for about half. 47 per cent were concerned about finding a big enough deposit, and 46 per cent were worried about future falls in property prices.

Because it is a quarterly survey, the Building Societies Association plans to use it to track our confidence in property over the next couple of years.
